Let's start with a quick overview of the project. Please click on the ENTER button to visit the whole site.

We are an independent Charity based in Holland. Our aim is to build a complete Nursery School for 150 children, provide Adult Education to tackle the general literacy problem, improve the general health of the villagers, especially the children and through for instance, irrigation schemes, help them to achieve SELF-SUFFICIENCY within 5 years. We have already achieved a lot.........

We've almost completed the NURSERY SCHOOL (THE SCHOOL PROJECT) to provide education for all (about 150) village children and about 75-100 adults.

The school comprises three double class-room blocks, each with an extra centre utility room and a toilet block. It will be enclosed by a 220 m long wall, providing a safe and clean area for the children to play outside of school hours.

We provide an income today for 4 FAMILIES through the salaries paid to our teachers. This will increase to 8 families by the end of this year.

We're now setting up a First Aid Post which among other things, will have a supply of tablets to fight malaria attacks which the villagers suffer regulalry. Without medicine, these often result in death, especially among the very young and the very old.

UNFORTUNATELY WE CAN'T DO THIS WITHOUT MONEY!

SPONSORSHIP IS BOTH CHEAP AND EFFECTIVE AND WE ASK YOU TO CONSIDER BECOMING A PART OF THIS PROJECT BY BECOMING A SPONSOR.

THIS COSTS ONLY $5.00 PER MONTH. Please read on...................

We shall be planting about 130 fruit trees in the village this summer, to provide a simple and effective way of improving the diet of the villagers (they have only two mango trees today).

We plan to send a second 40 feet container to the project this December, full of materials for the project and donated clothes etc., for the villagers.

Early next year, we hope to have sufficient funds to begin the second major phase: improving the irrigation of the local farm-land. This is where our sponsors come in (and you too, we hope).

We are fully registered as a charity in Holland with Banking facilities in Holland, The UK and The Gambia. What makes us different from the larger Charities (who also do excellent work) is that since we are small, we have minimal overheads. At least 95% of contributed money is spent directly on the Project, buying materials to build the School and paying the salaries of the co-workers (from Sambakala Village).
