THE FIRST 12"
MY OPINIUM OF THE FIRST 12" SINGLE
The last time i heard many people speak about the first 12"
Every thought that double exposure's 10 percent was the first one.
I'm not very shure about that thing.
Because the matrix number of that record is 12d-2008
what are the 7 matrix number before that item ?????
I never seen one of them. (maybe you??????)
It likes unbelieveble that you begins to count by number 8.
Maybe is it only possible that the other 7 only came out as a 7" single.
If that case the number 8 explains a lot
Some people says that it was salsoul orchestra with the hollywood busstop
that song is from 1975.
I saw that record one's by a local secondhand vinylshop in my town
But the label was not from salsoul i can't remember the label of it .
I only know that the label has a black color the year was '75 and
it comes from the U.K.
I think it's not original because my meaning is that the first 12" most
be comes from the U.S.A.
The label west end start also at the end of '75.
But here we also not sure ,because west-end doesn't write any year
on his first 12"'s
I have in my collection two promo 12"'s of the year 75.
Gil Scot heron with the bottle on arista SP-01
and ralph carter with "when you're young and in love on Mercury mk-01
the last one is mixed by tom moulton
Maybe he can speak .
I have from bethlem records a salsoul double cd
by double exposure i'm read a very important thing
"this is the first commercial 12" single ever released.....
I repeat "commercial" (not a promo).
So there most be older 12" like that.
Maybe only as promo
If anyone can give more information about the first 12" please no doubt and
write or mail me together we most find the real first 12" ever.
